Installation

1. Download the XRM Tools and import it into CRM 2011 selecting to 'Activate any processes and enable any SDK message processing steps included in the solution'.
2. Refresh the the browser.
3. You can then access Dynamics XRM Tools within the Configuration Page of the Dynamics XRM Solution.
4. You can also add the Dynamics Xrm Tool to the SiteMap Settings Area by using the Sitemap Options feature within the Dynamics XRM Tools Configuration module.

The latest version installs a configuration module which allows you to choose which tools to install. During importing the XRM Tools solution you must select the option to 'Activate any processes and enable any SDK message processing steps included in the solution'. Once you have chosen to install a tool and the installation completes, simply restart XRM Tools.

Note As it is a managed solution it can be completely removed from CRM by selecting to delete the solution from the Solutions View in CRM.

About Dynamics XRM Tools

The Dynamics XRM Tools project provides a modular framework for hosting Silverlight applications within a single shell.

A joint effort started by Rhett Clinton MVP and Ramon Tebar MVP has produced an extensible application framework that allows additional tools to be developed and included as a part of the toolset. Rhett's original CRM tools have been ported to the new framework and additional tools have already been created with more in development.

Same problem as the others, I installed the OData Query Designer and I see it in "Installed Tools" but how do I use it?

I'm having the same problem as andrewsimmans. The OData Query Designer seems to install successfully but no matter how thoroughly I refresh CRM I can't seem to actually use it.

How do you actually enable and use a tool? I have clicked on "Install OData Query Designer" it now appears in Installed tools - what do I do next?

The trace tool is currently the only tool not available for CRMOnline as you require Deployment Admin rights to install it as it has a plugin not running in Sandbox mode. OnPremise should be fine for IFD, CRM Online has the only restriction at the moment. Cheers, Rhett

Great little set of tools. Which deployment option should I use if on-premise is deployed with ADFS authentication, and what features are not available to the online version?
